The 98th National FFA Convention & Expo was a landmark event, and Michigan FFA members rose to the occasion with pride and excellence. Held in Indianapolis, the 2025 convention welcomed more than 73,000 FFA members, advisors, alumni and supporters, setting an all-time attendance record. For four days, blue jackets filled streets, stadiums, classrooms and expo halls as students from across the nation came together to celebrate agricultural education, leadership and service.
One of Michigan’s most exciting highlights was the election of Lily Nyland, a proud member of the Careerline Tech Center FFA Chapter, as the 2025–2026 National FFA Secretary. With her authenticity, strong leadership and unwavering commitment to service, Lily will carry Michigan FFA’s legacy forward with pride and distinction on the national stage.
Michigan’s presence was strong across all competitions, beginning with the Agriscience Fair, where 26 Michigan members showcased innovative research projects that combine science, creativity and agricultural problem-solving. Their hard work showcases the innovation and dedication found in Michigan’s agricultural classrooms and the mentors who help students turn curiosity into achievement.
Michigan’s Career Development Event teams also excelled, with five teams earning prestigious Gold Awards, placing them among the top teams in the nation:
- Niles FFA – Parliamentary Procedure
- Branch Area Career Center FFA – Agricultural Sales
- Lenawee Tech Center PM FFA – Agronomy
- Hopkins FFA – Horse Evaluation
- Olivet FFA – Marketing Plan
Additionally, 34 members competed for National Proficiency Awards, highlighting outstanding Supervised Agricultural Experience projects in areas ranging from agribusiness to animal systems. Their commitment to real-world learning and career development continues to set Michigan apart on the national stage.
Michigan FFA also celebrated the accomplishments of 12 chapters that earned National Chapter Star Awards, recognizing exceptional efforts in growing leaders, building communities and strengthening agriculture.
Beyond awards, the National FFA Convention offered Michigan members a chance to connect with other leaders, explore agricultural careers, participate in inspiring sessions and take part in the shared spirit that makes FFA so impactful.
After an unforgettable week at the National FFA Convention, Michigan FFA is proud of the determination and excellence our members demonstrated in Indianapolis. The 98th National FFA Convention once again showed the power of our members to lead, learn and grow, reminding us of the impact young people can make when they are supported, prepared and inspired.
