Our first February Student Saturday feature is Logan Fairchild from the Montague FFA Chapter, Region V. This year, Logan is serving as the chapter Sentinel and Region V Reporter. He’s also had the opportunity to have a varied SAE, from swine and poultry production to multiple paid placement positions, including both production and sales fields.
As an FFA member, one of his all time favorite activities has been National Convention. Logan described it as “a fun, vibrant, and inspiring experience.” From the upbeat sessions to concerts and rodeos, we couldn’t agree more. Outside of FFA, Logan also runs cross country and track, competes in wrestling for his school, and is involved academically in both DECA and NHS.
We asked for his advice for younger members, and Logan responded, “Get involved with it as much as you can. As a freshman I ‘wasted’ my first year of involvement because I didn’t explore what was there for me, and I watched my friends become Junior Officers without me.”
Logan will be attending MSU and hopes to graduate with degrees in Environmental Management and Economics and Political Science. He also would love to run for State Office, and build his own house by the time he’s 27!
With all the activities he’s involved in, we think Logan is a great example of our theme, Seek to Serve.

For our second February Student Saturday we are featuring Faith Butcher who is a member of the Corunna FFA Chapter!
Faith is very active in her chapter, serving as the Chapter Vice President. Faith has several Supervised Agricultural Experiences, which include strawberry production, beef and swine production, as well as vegetable production placement. One of Faith’s favorite things to do in FFA is to participate in as many events as she can to meet new people and make new friends. When asked what advice Faith would give to younger members, she stated, “My advice for younger members is to take every opportunity this organization throws at you no matter how intimidating it may be. FFA has so much to offer, but you have to take the first step.” Faith currently serves as a junior Farm Bureau board member for her county, and her future plans include continuing to build her beef and swine breeding business as well as continuing to work on growing her family’s Community Supported Agriculture program. Faith is also working on putting together a podcast that she is very excited to share!
Thank you Faith for putting so much dedication into our organization, and best of luck in all your future endeavors! Please be sure to like and share this post to give Faith a chance to have an exclusive feature on our Facebook and Instagram page!

For our final February Student Saturday, we’re featuring Olivia Calderone from the Dansville FFA chapter. Olivia is serving as her chapters treasurer and the Region IV reporter.
Olivia’s SAE is in pumpkin and gourd production. She is in charge of choosing specific seeds and ordering them for the spring every year. She also uses the equipment in the fields, chooses the planting patterns, and harvests the pumpkins and gourds. In addition to her work in her SAE and FFA offices, Olivia is involved in 4H, Science Olympiad, NHS, and has a job.
We asked Olivia what her favorite thing is about FFA and she responded, “My favorite thing about FFA is spending time with other members, but specifically when we go down to National Convention! My favorite memories in FFA are when we all are together laughing and spending time together down in Indianapolis.”
