Our first Student Saturday feature for March is Daisy Leinberger from the Bay Arenac Career Center FFA chapter. Daisy has served as her chapter’s Secretary and Representative.
Daisy’s favorite contest is Leadership Contest and SAE is in Diversified Horticulture placement working at a local Nursery & Garden Center.
When asked “What Advice would you give a new member,” Daisy said, “My advice to new members would be to try everything that FFA has to offer and always try your best. You never know what FFA has to offer until you try.”
Our second Student Saturday feature for March is Dakota Spink. Dakota is a member of the Springport FFA Chapter in Region II where she serves as their chapter president and will be applying for regional office this spring. Her SAE’s consist of honey and bee production, showing sheep, and her multiple leadership contests throughout the year.
During her time in FFA, she has enjoyed participating in leadership contests and any of the conventions that are held! When she’s not busy with FFA, you can find her playing softball, getting involved with NHS, playing in her school’s band, and taking part in her schools musicals.
When asked what advice she would give to members, she has said, “Try and branch out, if something sparks an interest try it! Never be afraid to fail, it’s how you grow!” In the future, she dreams of becoming a state officer and attending Michigan State University to pursue a degree in veterinary science. A fun fact about Dakota is that she skipped 8th grade and is now a year younger than everyone in my current grade!

Our third Student Saturday feature for March is Annie Rothfuss, a member of the Saline FFA Chapter. She is both Saline FFA’s and Region II FFA’s Vice President! Her SAE’s consist of agricultural sales placement and swine production SAE!
When asked about her favorite thing in FFA, she said, “My favorite thing in FFA would be spending time with all of our members. Whether it be a chapter or regional events or during state and national conventions, being around others who have a passion for agriculture and leadership has been both inspiring and influential!”
When Annie isn’t busy with FFA opportunities, she’s involved in many other clubs and organizations like Family Career Community Leaders of America (FCCLA), 4-H, National Honor Society, Saline Pig Club, and Saline Junior Livestock! A piece of advice she would give to younger FFA members would be to cherish every moment. Although it may not seem like it, every meeting, competition, community service activity, group event, and get-together will hold a special place in your heart. Know that every time you zip up your FFA jacket or show off your FFA gear, you are allowing yourself to grow and create lifelong memories and connections that will stay with you forever!
Annie’s goals for the future include her passion for serving and helping others! She plans to continue her education at the post-secondary level and learn more about herself and the globe. Annie hopes her love for service, agriculture, and learning will make a positive and lasting impact on her community, our country, and our world! Along with her future education plans, she hopes to travel to every continent and see the world. She loves to travel and learn about different countries and their cultures!
