For the month of February, we will be highlighting Faith Butcher for our #StudentSaturday! Faith Butcher is a senior at Corunna High School and has been a member of the Corunna FFA chapter for five years.

When asked how her FFA journey began, Faith stated, “I started in FFA because I felt out of place everywhere else, and FFA quickly became my home.” This is a feeling many of us have had when joining our FFA chapter. Faith has spent the past five years competing in everything she possibly could. This ranged from Extemporaneous Public Speaking, Prepared Public Speaking, Greenhand Conduct of Meetings, as well as Horse and Livestock Judging, the Broiler Contest, and Floriculture.

Faith has four Supervised Agricultural Experiences, including strawberry production, beef and pork production, and vegetable production placement. Throughout the past years, Faith has received several awards, including her greenhand, chapter and outstanding junior awards. In 2020, Faith was also the state winner in the Extemporaneous Public Speaking Contest.

As a senior, Faith will continue to serve her chapter as the Corunna Vice President. When asked what one piece of advice Faith has for any new FFA members, she said, “My advice for new members is to take a chance on the FFA. You get out what you put into this organization, so go take the leap. You’ll never regret getting more involved.”

Outside of FFA, Faith serves as a junior member on the Farm Bureau board and breeds and raises her own show stock.

Congratulations Faith on being the featured #StudentSaturday for the month of February!
