CHAPTER ROSTER, MEMBERSHIP & AET
Access the National FFA Membership System, learn how it integrates with AET, submit your chapter roster, and find the resources you need to keep your membership records accurate and up to date.
GETTING STARTED
The National FFA Membership System (ffa.org) and The Agricultural Experience Tracker (aet.com) work together, but each serves a different purpose. Membership is managed through the National FFA Membership System, while AET supports instruction, SAE recordkeeping, applications, and many FFA activities.

CONNECT YOUR SYSTEMS
Because the systems are connected, student information can be shared between them, reducing duplicate data entry. Choose the workflow that matches how your chapter manages student information.

I Have My Roster
in FFA.org
Import your official roster from the National FFA Membership System into AET to create student accounts and begin record keeping.
Note: Open the guide and navigate to the Managing Student Memberships – Add to AET section for step-by-step instructions on importing your FFA membership roster into AET.

I Have Student Accounts
in AET
Use existing student accounts in AET to transfer your roster information to the National FFA Membership System.
Note: Transferring your roster through AET is only the first step. Complete the process by selecting Submit Membership(s) to State in the National FFA Membership System.
SUBMIT YOUR CHAPTER ROSTER
When your membership information is ready, submit your chapter roster through the National FFA Membership System.

Affiliate Membership
Michigan FFA is an affiliated membership state, meaning every student enrolled in a Michigan Department of Education-approved AFNRE program is an FFA member. Chapters pay one annual affiliation fee based on student enrollment instead of individual membership dues. This makes FFA more accessible by reducing financial barriers and giving all eligible students the opportunity to participate in and benefit from FFA.
Revised: 11/25/24
The following affiliate fee structure applies during a chapter's first three years of participation, including:
- Newly chartered FFA chapters
- Chapters rechartering after a minimum five-year dormancy period
| Fee Structure | |
|---|---|
| Year 1 | No affiliate dues are assessed. |
| Year 2 | The chapter pays 50% of the affiliate fee based on the prior year's membership numbers. |
| Year 3 and Beyond | The chapter transitions to the full affiliate fee structure. |
Membership Policies
All participants in Michigan FFA-sponsored activities, including events, contests, and applications, must be members and listed on the chapter roster by the state-specified deadline.
Once a student is discovered not to be on the chapter roster as a participant on the AET Calendar Event, the student will be added to the roster and the chapter will be charged a discovery fee.
The discovery fee is assessed per event checked, not per student. A $25 fee will be charged for up to 10 unrostered students identified at one time. If more than 10 students are identified, the total fee will be $50. The maximum discovery fee per occurrence is $50.
